inspiration behind the art
As an expressionist process painter, my large abstract canvases are more so intentions than planned compositions. When painting original abstracts, I am not in an ordinary state of consciousness. The work leads me to a deeper state where I am unaware of my surroundings, guided by music and movement, and enveloped in the moment. That is where I feel a shift, and the painting is guiding me. As I become immersed, my spirit takes off and I experience a deep sense of beauty and emotion. I noticed that the palette where I mix my paints had become an intriguing work of art in itself.
